The flowerseller

She grows relaxed
Surrounded by a sea of emerald leaves
And splashes of scented colour
As she listens to the heartfelt reasons
For the orders of bouquets and sprays and wreaths
Every blossom tells a story
And she knows to stay afar
But as every flower forms
The lonely petals fall
Their scents release forgotten sympathies

A lady says, "some small white flowers"
(Flowers for a stillborn child)
And the flowerseller gives
A whisper-thin, sad, compassionate smile
And prays to be forgotten
Every blossom tells a story
And she knows to stay afar
But as every flower forms
The lonely petals fall
Their scents release forgotten sympathies

Every blossom tells a story
And she knows to stay afar
But as every flower forms
Lonely petals fall
Their scents release forgotten sympathies
